The dwarf galaxy UGC 685 is located about 15 million light-years from Earth.
The galaxy in this #HubbleClassic image is categorized as a “dwarf” galaxy because of its indistinct shape, nebular structure and dense group of stars.
Image description:
The dwarf galaxy is seen in the lower half of the image as a closely concentrated oval-shaped collection of white stars shining against black space. The rest of the image is filled with more distant galaxies and stars.
