HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A LOVEY-DOVEY PLANET?: GJ 504B

In 2013, thanks to infrared data from the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, astronomers discovered a giant gas planet called GJ 504b orbiting a bright star called GJ 504.

Although it has several times the mass of Jupiter, it is similar in size to it, making it the lowest-mass planet ever discovered around a Sun-like star using direct imaging.

If one day humans could travel to this distant world, an extraordinary sight awaits them: A pale magenta giant planet, still glowing with the heat of its formation, shimmering mysteriously in deep space, resembling the color of a dark cherry blossom.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A LOVEY-DOVEY PLANET?: GJ 504B

Isn't it the most lovey-dovey planet in the universe?
