When you think of stars, constellations, nebulae, what kind of image comes to your mind? Forget all the images that come to mind, I think you have never thought that it could be heart-shaped. Let's take a closer look together.
The Heart Nebula (IC1805) is an emission nebula in the constellation of the Queen. It is so named because it resembles the shape of the human heart. The nebula is composed mainly of hydrogen gas and is known as an area of active star formation. It is located about 7,500 light years from Earth and is about 150 light years across. The intense radiation from the young, hot stars inside the nebula causes the surrounding gas to glow brightly, creating the impressive visual effect we observe from Earth.
Isn't that interesting?
