A giant nebula, or vast region of dust and gas, containing thousands of bright young stars is seen in this image taken by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. This nebula, called NGC 3603, is an important star formation region in the Carina spiral arm of the Milky Way galaxy. Discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1834, the nebula is dramatically revealed in this image, taken on 29 December 2005 with Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys, which covers approximately 17 light-years.

Deep space photograph of thousands of stars and vast regions of dust and gas. In the centre of the image is a dense star cluster, surrounded by a surrounding nebula. A small cluster of dark clouds, the "Bok" globules, can be seen in the upper right corner.
I think it's very significant that an important star formation cluster is called a jewellery box, don't you?
