This new Hubble image reveals a fascinating cross-section of the Lagoon Nebula, also known as Messier 8. As parts of the nebula's dense and dusty molecular clouds collapse, new stars are being born.
This breathtaking nebula is located about 5,200 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius.
The Lagoon Nebula is included in the famous Messier Catalog, a favorite of amateur astronomers who love exploring the sky. This weekend, many sky enthusiasts will participate in the #MessierMarathon to observe as many Messier objects as possible throughout the night!
Image description:
Pinkish gray clouds fill the scene. Dark dust particles obscure the glow. Bright, blue-white stars shine through the clouds.

It's a very interesting image, isn't it?
