The Hubble Space Telescope has presented this stunning image of a cosmic object known as Gomez's Hamburger.
This image is the result of a Sun-like star shedding its outer layers. The components of the gigantic celestial hamburger are dust and light; the ‘bread’ of the hamburger is the light reflected from the dust, while the ‘patty’ is the dark strip of dust in the centre that hides the dying star. Gomez's Hamburger was discovered in sky photographs taken by astronomer Arturo Gomez at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. This object is located about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius.

Two lobes of white cosmic material glowing on either side of a dark black dust disc, loosely resembling hamburgers. The black background of space is decorated with a few stars.
Does it look like a hamburger to you?
