The US National Solar Observatory has shared the clearest photos of sunspots to date.

Our star, the Sun, which has made life possible on our planet with its energy for millions of years, is being displayed more clearly every day with the development of technology. The Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope, the architect of the record-breaking images, was able to show the Sunspots up close this time.

Images shared by the US National Solar Observatory allowed us to see the inside of the black dots on the Sun more clearly than ever before. The rotating convection cells and the movement of the plasma within the spots could be clearly distinguished.

Each convection cell in the photo above, taken from a small portion of the photos, is slightly smaller than the area of Turkey.

Sunspots are seen at points where the magnetic field has a higher intensity than any other point on the Sun, and they appear black to us because the temperature is lower at these points.

Sunspots follow an average 11-year cycle of increasing and decreasing numbers. Since the temperature reflected from the Sun decreases with the increase in sunspots, it is assumed that the periods when more spots are experienced can also affect the Earth.
