THE FIRST PHOTO SHOWN THE WHOLE WORLD IS SHARED -Friendz10

The weather observation satellite named MTG-I1, which was sent into space last year in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Meteorological Satellites Operation Organization (EUMETSAT), shared the first high-resolution photo it took. The satellite, which displays parts of Europe and Australia, as well as Africa and the Atlantic Ocean, seems to facilitate the work of scientists with its unique level of detail.

The purpose of MTG-I1 is to follow the weather conditions instantly and make predictions, as can be expected. The detail capacity of the satellite helps to make the most accurate predictions for the future. Moreover, even though a satellite with this capacity is the only one for now, 6 more satellites will take their place in space until 2026. In this way, instant weather changes and all natural events that they may cause can be followed closely.

This photo may seem to show the Earth and the clouds above it, but even the positions of these clouds are very important to scientists. Simonetta Cheli, one of the senior ESA executives, who made explanations about the image obtained, emphasized that such detailed information has not been obtained with any weather observation satellite until now. According to Cheli, MTG-I1 will provide a better understanding of Earth and atmospheric phenomena than ever before.

The MTG-I1 has a structure that photographs the Earth every 10 minutes and can send them to scientists. This will be important in both the short and long term. Experts will be able to concentrate on the causes of sudden weather events and monitor global warming. Moreover, this weather observation satellite will not only provide data to Europe. The World Meteorological Organization, established under the United Nations, will also make weather forecasts using the data of MTG-I1.
