This photo, released for the 26th anniversary of the Hubble Telescope, gives us a glimpse of the Orion B molecular cloud complex, a turbulent region where stars are born, about 1350 light years from us.
In the center of the photo, there is a brand new star hidden among the dark dust clouds. As if to say, “I'm home!”, it shoots twin jets of light into space - as if announcing its birth to the universe.
As Hubble's 35th birthday approaches, one amazing image is being shared for every year it has been on the mission - the excitement for a brand new anniversary series is already underway!
Image description: Near the right center of the image, a glowing orange region emits a jet of blue and orange material that extends along the right diagonal. Brown clouds and hazy bluish material glow throughout.

It's like a giant lightsaber straight out of Star Wars, right?
