While the pregnancy test is already an interesting event in itself, now I will tell you about the most interesting pregnancy test in history. This test was made in Ancient Egypt.
In Egypt, women with suspected pregnancy were asked to urinate in two different bags. One of these bags was filled with barley and the other with wheat. If sprouting was seen in either of the bags after this urination, it was thought that the woman was pregnant.
Let's make it even more interesting. If the barley sprouted first, the baby would be a boy; if the wheat sprouted first, the baby would be a girl.
Although this sex determination experiment of the Egyptians was completely wrong, according to modern research, the pregnancy test was 80 per cent accurate. This is because estrogen in the urine of a pregnant woman stimulates the growth of the seeds.
Truly the most interesting pregnancy test. Does it surprise you too?
