Cronos, one of the Titans in Greek Mythology, is the youngest son of the sky god Uranos and the earth goddess Gaia. Also known as Cronus or Kronos.
His wife was Rhea, a Titan, and Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus were born from this marriage. Kronos is the only titan who helps his mother, who is tired of giving birth and wants to take revenge on her father, and cut off Kronos' testicles with the sickle his mother gave him. Although he first released the brothers Hekatogkheir and Cyklops, whom his father threw to Tartaros, at the request of his mother, he realized how dangerous they were in time and sent them back to the same place.
Although Kronos married his sister Rea, he began to devour his children as soon as they were born, on the prophecy of his mother that one of his children would seize his throne. Rea secretly gave birth to Zeus in Crete, and she hid her son by making Kronos swallow a rock instead of baby Zeus. When Zeus reached the age of adolescence, he made his father swallow an emetic and made his brothers vomit, and they started a life and death struggle against his father Kronos and the Titans, against whom he rebelled, along with his brothers and other gods.
After ten years of unsuccessful war, when Zeus took out the Cyclops and Hekatogkhers that his father had imprisoned in Tartaros and added them to his own ranks, the gods won a victory against the Titans, this time the Titans were sent to Tartaros.
In addition to the children (gods) born of Reia, Kronos also has a centaur son from Philyra named Chiron. Kronos is known as Saturn in Roman mythology. Kronos was depicted holding a sickle made of adamantine, which was believed to be able to cut anything.
