In November 2016, a small group of artists were selected to visit NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, to see the James Webb Space Telescope in person and be inspired to create art. Since then, many works of art have been produced.
Inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope, painting, poetry, sculpture, textiles, woodwork, music, screen printing, 3D painting, jewellery, posters, tattoos and letterpress prints are featured.
While NASA welcomes few artists physically, it does offer the chance to participate virtually for talented people who are interested in participating.
