1 MAKE A LIST OF FAMILY MEMBERS

Begin your journey down your family's memory lane by doing research. First, make a list of relatives you want to learn more about and include in your tree. Ask your parents and other relatives for their names and any information they remember. Do not limit yourself to only names and life dates, try to find out about the professions, important achievements of your relatives and some interesting information about them. Also find pictures if you can.

2 CREATE  DRAFTS

As soon as you have gathered enough information about your relatives, you can start creating your project. Start with a simple outline using a sheet of paper and a pencil. Think about how you place photos on the branches of your tree and what information can fit in the available space. Make sure everything you want to add about them will fit.

3 PREPARE PHOTOS

You can add a photo, even if it is old or faded. It would also be good to know their images and pass them on to other generations.

4 START BUILDING YOUR GENERA TREE

You will need printed photos, a piece of cardboard or several pieces, glue, scissors, dark blue or black felt-tip pens, crayons, colored pencils or paints, and some brushes of different sizes. You can use objects such as old coins, dried flowers to make your painting even more creative.

5 SHOW OR HANG

Once you have created your family tree, you can proudly show it to your family members or whoever you want. If you are going to hang it, hang it somewhere not too close to the window so that the sunlight does not fade the colors of the photos.
