With the last mission of Axiom Space, the record for the number of people in orbit at the same time was broken. Currently, 17 different people are in Earth orbit.
The world has entered a new phase in the space age. Now even touristic trips have begun in our orbit. As a result, new records have already begun to be heard in space. The last record was broken for the number of people in orbit at the same time. Currently, 17 people are in Earth orbit.
The record was broken by Axiom Space's second private space mission, which took place on May 30. An astronaut and 3 space passengers were launched into space with the Crew Dragon spacecraft and landed on the ISS.
The record broken on the International Space Station broke the record for the most people in Earth orbit at the same time. This record is not actually a space record, as it is defined as "space" after 100 kilometers above the earth's surface.
The record for the most people in space at the same time was broken by Blue Origin's NS-19 mission on December 11, 2021. In this mission, 19 people reached an altitude of 107 kilometers with Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft and made a 10-minute journey.
