Crying actually has many health benefits, but today we are going to look at one of them.
Prolonged crying releases endogenous opioids, also known as oxytocin and endorphins. These feel-good chemicals can help alleviate both physical and emotional pain. When endorphins are released, your body may enter a slightly numb phase. Oxytocin can give you a feeling of calm or well-being. Another example of crying being a self-soothing action.
