On the left side of this #HubbleClassic image, intense ultraviolet radiation and stellar wind from a young star create a vacuum of gas.
This nebula, called N44F, is about 160,000 light-years away. Compared to our Sun (which loses mass through the ‘solar wind’), the central star in this nebula ejects 100 million times more mass per second.
The particle hurricane is travelling much faster, at about 4 million miles per hour (7 million km/h), compared to our Sun's speed of about 0.9 million miles per hour (1.5 million km/h).
Image description:
A wide view of gas and dust scattered among the stars fills the field of view. On the left, a bright orange ‘bubble’ can be seen surrounding the bright stars. Around this void, complex filaments of gas and dust glow in rusty red hues.
Do you like bubbles like me? Do you think this image looks like a bubble? Or if we turn the image to the right, can we say that it looks like a flower?
