This nearby galaxy orbits our largest galactic neighbor Andromeda. The #HubbleClassic image shows the bright core of M110 in the lower right corner.
Located about 2,690,000 light-years away, M110 is classified as an elliptical galaxy. Such galaxies have a smooth and simple structure, with no spiral arms or prominent star-forming regions.

A bright white point of light near the bottom right of the image shows the nucleus of the M110 galaxy. It is surrounded by many stars and star clusters and dark spots of cosmic dust, with prominent dark regions at its center and just above the galactic nucleus.
