This star cluster looks like a cosmic garland, with its stars glittering among the festive clouds. Thanks to the NASA Webb and Chandra XRay telescopes, we can view this spectacular scene from Earth. Webb is stationary between the Earth and the Sun, about 1 million miles away, while Chandra orbits the Earth at an altitude of about 86,500 miles.
Both telescopes look at the universe beyond the visible light range. That's why infrared and X-ray observations were converted into the colors we can see in this extraordinary image. This star cluster, called NGC 602, is located in the Small Magellanic Cloud, just outside the Milky Way Galaxy.

This is a composite image of the star cluster NGC 602 in vibrant and festive colors. The shape of the star cluster resembles a festive wreath. The cluster contains a giant ring of dust clouds, shown in greens, yellows, blues and oranges; the image also glows with colorful, festive spots and dots of light, representing the stars within the cluster.
