This open star cluster is home to newborn ‘baby’ stars. These young stars emit ultraviolet radiation, causing the surrounding clouds of cosmic matter to glow.
These stars shine through the Eagle Nebula, home to the famous Pillars of Creation (not in this image). This #HubbleClassic image shows just a small part of the nebula, which is located about 7,000 light-years away.
Image description:
Several bright stars shine in yellow, orange and white hues. The stars have diffraction spikes, and two are particularly large just above and below the centre of the image. The background is filled with dark brown dust and gas, covering most of the diagonal right half of the image, while pale blue gas glows in the upper left.

It's a real image, but doesn't it look fake?
