Known as the vampire tree in Japanese culture, Jubokko grew on a battlefield where many people died and blood fed the land. Therefore, it is thought to continue to feed on human blood.
According to Japanese mythology, after the land where the Jubokko tree grows is soaked with blood, it absorbs the blood and turns into a mysterious, bloodthirsty tree.
Legend has it that if a person gets too close to the tree, Jubokko grabs his victim with its branches and uses the other branches to suck the victim's blood.
